Welcome to ra'i, available as an iOS app, at rai.style, and through our browser extension (together, the "Service"). The Service is operated by Tania Makarem, an individual based in Lebanon ("we", "us") (operator details will be updated if and when a legal entity is formed).

By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use ra'i.

1. What ra'i is — and is not

ra'i is a social shopping tool: you save products you are considering, organize them into catalogs, and ask friends for opinions before buying.

ra'i is not a store. We do not sell anything, process payments, or take part in any transaction. When you follow a link to a retailer, everything that happens there — the purchase, delivery, returns, warranty — is strictly between you and that retailer. We are not a party to it and accept no responsibility for it.

Affiliate links. ra'i may earn a commission when you buy from a retailer through a link in ra'i. This never changes the price you pay, and it never influences what ra'i or its AI assistant recommends. See the Privacy Policy for how affiliate links work.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 16 years old to use ra'i. By creating an account you confirm that you are 16 or older and that the information you provide is accurate.

3. Your account

  • You are responsible for your account and everything done through it. Keep your password safe and do not share your account.
  • One person per account; do not impersonate anyone or register misleading usernames.
  • You can change your email or delete your account at any time in Settings. Account deletion is permanent and erases your profile, items, catalogs, messages, votes, and comments (see the Privacy Policy).

4. Product data, prices, and availability

Product details in ra'i — titles, images, prices, stock status — come from third-party retailer pages, fetched when you save an item and re-checked periodically for price tracking.

This data is provided "as is". Prices change, listings expire, extractions can be imperfect, and price-drop or restock alerts can be wrong or late. Always verify the price and availability on the retailer's own site before buying. We are not liable for purchase decisions made on the basis of information shown in ra'i.

5. Your content and your license to us

You keep ownership of everything you create in ra'i — your items, photos, catalogs, comments, and messages ("Your Content").

So that the Service can function, you grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, store, reproduce, and display Your Content for the purpose of operating the Service: showing your catalogs to the people you have chosen to share them with, and — if you publish a catalog — displaying it to other users on Explore and via share links, together with your name, username, and profile photo.

This license ends for any content when you delete it, and entirely when you delete your account (except for transient backup copies, which expire on our providers' standard cycles). We do not use Your Content for advertising and we do not sell it.

You are responsible for Your Content. Only upload photos and material you have the right to use.

6. Publishing and visibility

Private catalogs are private; shared catalogs are visible to their members; published catalogs are visible to any logged-in user. Publishing always requires your explicit confirmation in the app. Think before you publish — and note that other users can see, react to, and comment on published content under these Terms.

7. Community rules

ra'i is built on friends giving each other honest opinions. To keep it that way, you must not:

  • harass, threaten, shame, or bully anyone, or post hateful content;
  • post content that is illegal, pornographic, or that infringes someone else's rights (including using other people's photos without permission);
  • spam, including mass friend requests, repetitive comments, or abuse of nudges;
  • misuse the platform for commercial promotion, undisclosed advertising, or affiliate schemes;
  • attempt to access other users' private content, scrape the Service, probe its security, or interfere with its operation;
  • circumvent blocks, create accounts to evade enforcement, or misuse the reporting system with bad-faith reports.

You can mute, block, and report users and catalogs in the app. We review reports and may remove content, hide catalogs from public view, restrict features, or suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms. For serious or repeated violations we may act without prior warning.

8. The AI shopping assistant

The AI assistant is there to help you think about purchases — suggesting alternatives, comparing options, answering questions. To answer, it may read product pages and search the web, and it tries to say where a fact came from — but its answers are generated automatically and may be inaccurate, incomplete, or out of date. Always check details with the retailer before buying. They are not professional, financial, or purchasing advice, and product suggestions are not endorsements. Use your judgment (and your friends' verdicts) before spending money.

9. Gift lists

The gift-list feature deliberately hides certain information (such as who claimed a gift) from the list's owner. Don't try to spoil surprises through technical means — and note that we cannot guarantee a surprise will survive contact with your friends.

10. The iOS app and extensions

The iOS app, its share extension, and the browser extension let you save the product page you are sharing or viewing to your ra'i account when you choose to save. They must be used with your own account and in accordance with these Terms. The extensions do not track your browsing (see the Privacy Policy).

10a. Official brand accounts

Brands with official accounts can see how people respond to their products, including the names and profiles of people who love, save, or open their products — unless you turn off "Show my name to brands" in Settings, in which case you appear only in anonymous totals. Brands never see what you buy individually. Official accounts must represent the brand they claim to be, may not use insights to harass or spam users, and are subject to the same community rules.

11. Our intellectual property

The ra'i name, wordmark, design, and software are ours (or our licensors'). We grant you a personal, non-transferable, revocable license to use the app for its intended purpose. You may not copy, resell, reverse-engineer, or build derivative services from it, except where law permits.

12. Third-party sites

ra'i links out to retailer websites and displays material fetched from them. We do not control those sites, do not endorse them, and are not responsible for their content, terms, or privacy practices.

13. Availability and changes to the Service

ra'i is under active development. Features may change, be added, or be removed, and the Service may occasionally be unavailable. We aim to give notice of significant changes but are a small operation and cannot guarantee uninterrupted service.

14. Disclaimers

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy of product data, or uninterrupted availability, to the maximum extent permitted by law.

15. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for: purchases you make on third-party sites; inaccurate product data, prices, or alerts; content posted by other users; loss of data resulting from your deletion of content or your account; or indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service.

Nothing in these Terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded by law, and if you are a consumer in the EU or another jurisdiction with mandatory consumer protections, those rights are unaffected.

16. Termination

You can stop using ra'i and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms, as described in Section 7. On termination, Sections 5 (for the wind-down of the license), 11, 12, 14, 15, and 17 survive.

17. Governing law and disputes

18. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms as the Service evolves. For material changes we will notify you in the app before they take effect; continuing to use ra'i after that means you accept the updated Terms. The "last updated" date above always reflects the current version.
